CPR is a manual procedure that involves chest compressions and rescue breaths to maintain blood flow and oxygenation in someone who has suffered a cardiopulmonary arrest. AED, on the other hand, is a device that delivers an electric shock to the heart to restore its normal rhythm.
While performing CPR, it is possible to break someone's ribs or cause other injuries due to the force required to properly administer chest compressions. However, the potential benefits of performing CPR far outweigh the risks of injury.
CPR certification through the American Heart Association expires in 2 years.
Anyone can use an AED. just turn it on and it talks you through the process.
